Whispers had been surfacing recently that the Penguins might be forced to look for another backup goaltender, as Brent Johnson has struggled mightily all season. The veteran quieted those whispers on Wednesday at Air Canada Center in Toronto. Although the Penguins saw their eight-game winning streak end in a 1-0 loss, Johnson's performance gave them reason for satisfaction. Johnson stopped 23 of 24 shots against the Maple Leafs. This game was far different than the one 24 hours ago, when the Penguins and Maple Leafs played pond hockey in a game the Penguins ultimately won, 5-4.
